312-DRY-TOFU? WTF?
January 18th, 2010
WTF is right.
Out of the people I know (and I know plenty) my brother has to be one of the more creatively-driven, the kind that when he says he’s going to do a project, he sticks with it. He’s the kind of guy you envy yet want to kick in his teeth because he always delivers and never seems to fall victim to laziness and/or procrastination. I wish I were the same. So many projects in my life have been abandoned: writing, web, even crummy art on college ruled paper. I bought a Wacom tablet two weeks ago. Still haven’t used it.
My brother does things. He runs a website called The Media Collective. If you can’t tell, he loves audio. Raw audio.
His latest project included buying a voice mailbox with a Chicago number that’s digits spell DRY TOFU. It’s a free form question and answer line. It’s amusing. It’s hilarious.
A new question every week: (312) 379-8638.
Not only does my brother do that, he does a weekly show in West Lafayette called What’s Up With That? a show not hosted by Ryan Hill where he interviews inebriated college kids on the streets and asks them a healthy mix of political and irrational questions.
He also runs an improv workshop on Purdue’s campus, plus he does whole slew of other things that don’t have set schedules. I honestly don’t know how he does it all, considering he has a full-time job as well.
He’s a superhero. Quite possibly a super villain, considering the wild hair and beard. Pretty darn rad.
How come “super villain” has to be two words?

Wow. A whole post, dedicated to me! I feel honored.
If you ever want to work on a project…
Yeah, we have to work on something. We should discuss this over sushi down by you. Yeah. That sounds pretty good.
Well, let’s do this sushi-creative-brainstorming-meeting!
Well, we never did the sushi, but we did collaborate! w00t.
Which reminds me, don’t forget about that audio project we are working on.
Love you.
