I like when clothes smell like the people I love.

I friend of mine gave me a bag of old clothes recently. I love getting new clothes, even if they were worn by other people. It’s exciting to me, knowing that I now can enjoy jeans and shirts that my friends once loved.
I’m wearing a pair of her old jeans right now and they smell just like her. It reminds me how I used to love coming home from my friend Robin’s house back in high school, because all my clothes would be perfumed with her scent. It was such a great smell. She wore Adidas, and I loved it. She’s the reason why I wear Adidas now.
I haven’t seen her, let alone smell her in many, many years and I’m sure her once-favorite-perfume smells entirely different on me, but that’s okay. It’s still my little tribute to her.

It’s amazing what a smell can evoke. When I was at IU, I used to keep Shane’s sweatshirts and wear them to bed. I loved smelling “him” when he wasn’t with me.
Smell is very memory triggering for me. I remember all sorts of things through different smells.
It sounds weird, but sometimes other sensory triggers (like certain songs I hear) can invoke a smell associated with the song. Do you ever experience that?
