COBRA Coverage and why I might not need it – Day 19
February 26th, 2010
I think I was channeling DeceasedCrab in the beginning there. Too many Let’s Plays.
Today was a highly productive day despite being out of the house for a good chunk of it. I went to get a quote for my health insurance this morning at the Shaner Agency. Such nice people who have known our family for over 10 years, I think. It was a good quote for what I needed, about $25 more a month than my old group plan, but with a little higher of a deductible. I will chance it. I’m that hardcore.
Also had lunch today with my friend Rich at the ever-tasty Valpo Velvet. They had some delicious lemon rice soup, so if my brother ever comes up to visit, I’ll have to take him there for a taste. He loves lemon rice soup. Always getting it wherever we go it seems.
I really liked their mint chocolate chip ice cream. Refreshing and chocolately. It really made my mouth smile.
In terms of writing, I’m nearly complete with my short story, and I know there are some who are eager to read it. If you would like to beta test / critique this piece, let me know and I will send it your way. I would like to try to do something with it after all the critiques are in. I don’t know who would take a 10,000 story though. Any ideas?
I’m laying out the zine starting tomorrow. After I clean and go to Birky Farms. They’re having a sale on a lot of meats and cheese to make room for new stuff tomorrow. $3 a package for everything they have available. I’m so stocking up.

I would be happy to critique your work. I always enjoyed your writing, even when i didn’t know you. It is cool seeing that things are coming together for you and it is exciting to see your progress. Keep it up.
me me me! (Waving my hand high up in the air)
I’ll be more than happy the read the work. Send it my way and let me know what you want me to do as far as the critiquing.
I do love lemon rice soup. Nothing makes me happier than a bowl of lemon rice soup, some nice bread, a warm restaurant and friends/family around the table. Ahhh! Those are some good times.
Speakerphone is a great invention. I use it constantly.
Let us know what you get from the farm—and if you make any delicious meals from the items!
Also, how do you like that Scrivener program for your writing? Has that system been helping you a lot?
If you need to submit your stories to places, I would check out these podcast places:
100 Word Stories
Podiobooks
Escape Pod
Bound Off
Pseudo Pod
Also, another popular thing with the masses today is flash fiction. You should check that out if you haven’t.
Happy Days! Love you!
I want to read tooooo!
I enjoyed our lunch, Nichole! The free scoop of ice cream at the end makes the meal! :)
