I work out to Let’s Plays – Day 149
July 7th, 2010
I’ve adopted a new workout schedule.
When I come home from work, I change into shorts and a tanktop or whatever I have that’s handy and comfortable, grab a tumbler of water, and catch up on my HCBailly Let’s Plays. Currently he’s running through Final Fantasy VIII and Link’s Awakening, both of which I am thoroughly enjoying, though I doubt anything will come close to the epicness of his Illusion of Gaia Let’s Play, but that’s neither here nor there.
This is how it goes down: for about 20 minutes each day (since each Let’s Play is about 10 to 11 minutes: the max allotted YouTube uploading time) I stand in the small space between my bed and the window, lifting weights, doing squats, lunges, abdominal twists and simple strength-building yoga while watching my laptop, which is perched precariously on the edge of my bed. Well, maybe not so precariously. It doesn’t matter. Sometimes I don’t even watch much of the Let’s Play; I just listen. The commentary is entertaining enough to stand without the visuals.
“I’ve got a PIECE OF POWER! And here’s a SECRET TREASURE!”
Oh HC, how I love you and the way you break games.
I feel better now that I’ve adopted a more stable exercise routine. I like the way my heart pumps and my skin sweats when I’m on the floor doing bicycle motions with the ding-ring-zap sound of video games chiming on the screen in front of me. Maybe I’m just masochistic, but it sure beats television.
What do you do while you work out at home?

I think thats awesome! lol This is one area in my life that needs work. I wish i had the drive to work-out… I keep saying i want to but time keeps slipping by!!
By the way i see myself listed in the your list of “Awesome Peeps”… Thanks!!! Im honored
I always find that getting started is the hardest part, but once I get going, it’s not so bad. Not to mention I’m addicted to Let’s Plays and watch them anyway, so I may as well do something productive while watching them. :)
