I got some work. Granted it will shift around my schedule for two or three weeks (meaning minimal writing and zine time), but it’s very much worth it. The money I make from this project will set me up for a little over two months. I’m excited about that. I want to keep on with this writing journey for as long as I possibly can, and if web design and development does it for me, all the better.

It’s actually a nice marriage. Web design is really the only thing that can make me a decent amount of money right now. It helps fund my poor writer self. I lucked out having those skills. More writers really should look into becoming web designers and developers. It works well with a writing schedule.

And so, day 100 of my journey was filled with a client meeting and research. If I can do that every 100 days, that would be pretty nice. I’m actually welcoming the break. It will give the writing side of my brain a chance to recharge.

The rest of my week is pretty booked. Tomorrow there’s a business networking event in Chicago. Rahsaan, Chris, Nate (maybe Sumer) and I are all trekking up there for it. Should be a good time. Alcohol will be involved, no doubt. Is is an event where Absolut Vodka and Malibu Rum are handing out free drinks.

Friday, Rahsaan and I are attending INsight, a design conference here in Northwest Indiana. Good times will blossom. Friendships may grow. My friend Atom is speaking, I believe. It’s always nice to see him no matter what the circumstance.

Saturday is Pierre’s birthday. He’s formulating a plan to chill at some hooka lounge in Portage. Sunday is baseball yet again and quite possibly Three Floyd’s Brewery since Greg and Brian’s game is in Munster. I’ll drink some gumballhead for Nate!

Busy, busy, but I think I like it. It means summer is finally here.

Feedback is love.

  1. Congrats on your freelance job! I think breaks here and then are great specially paid one’s :-)

    • Yep, they are. I miss working alongside people sometimes though. If you ever have freelance work you’re working on, we should get together and just work… like if we were in an office. Then we can share ideas, just like in the olden days.

starting the new project on day 100…genious!

    mmmm…gumballhead.

    • Yep. In my own obsessive way, I’ve already started research and stuff. I think the site will look really good.

      Gumballhead.
