Inf sent me zines and I love her for it.
August 28th, 2009
In the late 90s—I want to say ’98 or ’99—I met a girl named infinity on the Frosty Lips forums. I was 16 then. We were never super, super close, in more ways than one. She lives in Australia and I live in the US. We have always led our own lives without much overlap. For awhile, school was all I thought of. I worked on graduating high school, then college while she reached for her own goals. However, over the years we still reached out to each other, offering support and a virtual shoulder to cry on when things got too tough.
Fast forward about 11 years. I came home last night from the NWI Tweetup and found a package from infinity—whose name is really Sandy but that old alias of hers still has a special place in my heart. The package was stuffed full of zines. Four total. They ranged in quality, both in their print format and their content. Nevertheless, they inspired me. They made me think how awesome it would be for me to put together something of my own, even if it’s nothing more than a shitty little zine filled with mindless blather.
She knows I’m in a rut, so I thank you so much, inf. Thank you for thinking of me. Thank you for sparking something in me, even if it’s only a tiny, barely-there flame. I will work on making it grow, because more than anything right now, I want to blaze with creativity.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Omg leenie-babes hearts and crosses and oh’s!!!11 lol xx
Is there anything I can do to help you?
This would be great opportunity for Exquisite Corpses! Speaking of which…
Internet friends are great!
For a couple years, this gal and I exchanged handmade holiday cards. I keep meaning to get back in touch with her…this might just be the spark!
