Or bloody marys. Something like that I'm sure. I usually like to get to know my characters beforehand, but this time I just dove right in. Something different. Congratulations on starting a story. Keep them coming and you will produce something you really enjoy. With our improv, we have to get warmed up and make the characters before the really interesting scenes happen. I'm striving to do an exercise or two a day, to get myself warmed up and ready to write. I read at a pretty quick pace, but I know some people who read a lot faster.
